John David Pittman (JDP) considers anything worth doing, something worth doing passionately.

An Arkansas native, John David grew up in the small town of Hackett. He attended the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Having had early success working with a political consulting firm and a publicly traded digital curriculum company, he decided to leave the corporate world and follow his heart in 2012. It was then that he transitioned his passion for interpersonal communication, the human condition, and photography to a full time editorial and commercial photography career. He quickly began to draw the attention of creative decision makers locally, regionally, and nationally.

Known for a controlled sense of light and ability to quickly gain the trust of a wide range of subjects, John David interjects a unique sense of humanity into his portraiture. Routinely praised for being a dynamic creative partner, John David puts his clients at ease with his professionalism and ever present sense of humor.

John David was a featured speaker at ImagingUSA 2016 in Atlanta, GA. He is a mentor photographer for Peter Hurley's educational community, and a featured portrait lighting instructor at HeadshotMania 2018 in Palm Springs, CA.

In 2017, photography lighting industry leader Profoto named John David a "Legend of Light."

He is a volunteer for the Noble Impact Apprenticeship Program.

John David also serves on the Board of Directors and is the Communication Director for Blue Door Sponsorship, a non-profit providing hope and education to the children of Kenya.
